A safer way to pay with your digital card.
It’s a digital version of your debit or credit card, stored safely in the Westpac One® app. It comes with a dynamic security code, so you can shop online with extra peace of mind when you need it.
Your digital Westpac card.
How it works
Your digital card is a digital version of your eligible Westpac debit or credit card*, stored safely in the Westpac One® app. It has the same card number and expiry date as your physical card, only the security code is different.
Unlike the three-digit code printed on the back of your physical card, your digital card has a dynamic security code that refreshes after 24 hours. This means the code is only valid for a short time, reducing the risk of fraud if your card details are ever stolen.
Debit cards
There’s no need to wait for your physical card to arrive in the mail. Your digital debit card details are ready to use straight away, if you have applied online.
Credit cards
For credit cards, your digital card details will be ready to go once you’ve activated your physical card.
Reasons to love your digital Westpac card.
- Wherever your phone is, your card is too – See your debit or credit card details anytime in the Westpac One app.
- Use your card details anytime, anywhere – Shop online, pay bills, or add them to Apple Pay or Google Pay™ for in-store purchases.
- Safer online payments - Your security code refreshes after 24 hours, reducing the length of time fraudsters have to use stolen card details if a website you’ve shopped with is hacked.
- No downtime when replacing your card – If you replace your card through Westpac One digital banking, your new digital card is ready to use, so you can keep spending without interruptions.
- Works with screen readers – Your digital card details can be read aloud by screen readers, making it easier for blind or vision-impaired customers to manage their cards.
Your dynamic security code.
A code that refreshes after 24 hours
Unlike the printed three-digit code on your physical card, your dynamic security code automatically refreshes after 24 hours. This refresh means the code is only valid for a short period of time, which limits the length of time fraudsters have to make purchases with stolen card details.
Extra protection when you want it
You decide when and where to use your dynamic security code. You can keep using the permanent code on your physical card as you currently do.
Works with subscriptions and recurring payments
You can use your dynamic security code to set up subscriptions and recurring payments. Once set up, payments will continue as normal, while your details stay protected.
More convenience, more control.
Add to Apple Pay or Google Pay™
Add your debit or credit card to your mobile wallet or smartwatch and pay on the go.
Block or unblock your card anytime
Misplaced your physical card? Block it instantly, and the digital version of your card will be blocked too. Unblock it just as easily when you find it.
Replace straight away via WestpacOne
If you have requested a replacement card via WestpacOne, you can use your digital card immediately online or in-store with your mobile wallet.
