Westpac Government Banking.
Proudly working with the New Zealand Government as its banker since 1989.
All-of-Government banking services.
Throughout our relationship as the New Zealand Government's banker, we have continued to deliver the core payment needs and innovated together to improve service delivery.
Following a robust procurement process, the New Zealand Government appointed Westpac in September 2015 to be:
- The exclusive provider of Crown Transactional Banking services to core Crown Agencies
- A panel provider for all panelled services, which include:
- Foreign Exchange Services
- Payment Services
- Card Services.
The All-of-Government Banking Services solution process has been a great catalyst to determine how Westpac and government together can continue to create value for New Zealand. Westpac was reappointed in 2023 as Government Banker.
The first step is to join the All-of-Government banking services solution.
The Banking Centre of Expertise within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is responsible for, and manages, this process.
Upon signing a Letter of Accession to the relevant MBIE Memorandum of Understanding, we can work with you to sign Services Orders for:
- Crown Transactional Banking Services (for Core Agencies only)
- Foreign Exchange Services
- Payment Services
- Card Services.
