Can the funeral be paid from the deceased's Westpac Wealth managed fund investments?

Unfortunately, funds cannot be released from any managed fund investment product to pay the funeral bill. This includes any KiwiSaver funds held.

However if the deceased person holds a Westpac life insurance policy, funds may potentially be released and will be considered on a case by case basis.
