Do hotpoints® expire or have a time limit?
hotpoints earned on an account are valid for 35 months from the date they are earned and must be redeemed within this timeframe. They will expire at the end of the relevant calendar month unless you cancel your card or switch to a non hotpoints Westpac credit card such as an Airpoints™ credit card or Fee Free Mastercard®. In both instances, your hotpoints will expire 90 days from the date you close your hotpoints credit card account.
Once your account has been closed, your card will be removed from your Westpac One® online banking profile and you can't use it anymore. This also removes the link to log in to hotpoints online. Any remaining points you had can be accessed by calling us on 0800 861 862, weekdays between 8am and 6pm.
During the 90-day expiry period, you won't be able to:
- Redeem hotpoints online (only over the phone by calling 0800 861 862, weekdays between 8am and 6pm)
- Redeem hotpoints using hotpoints Pay®
- Use the Points + Pay mechanism.
Terms and exclusions apply. Credit Card Conditions of Use for the applicable card apply.

Points + Pay option is available on selected gift cards and products redeemed online at hotpoints.co.nz, once you have logged in from Westpac online banking. Only Westpac debt and credit cards can be used for the pay portion. Points + Pay terms and conditions apply see hotpoints.co.nz for details.
