insure up to 75% of your income before tax

if your premium payments are up to date, and you’re earning, you can renew your policy up to age 65—no matter how your health is
choice of four benefit period options, either 1, 3 or 10 years or until you reach 65 years
if you’re disabled and receiving monthly claim payments, these payments will automatically be inflation-adjusted each year
you pay no premiums while on claim
30-day free look period if you decide income protection insurance isn’t for you.
Who is income protection insurance suitable for?
Income protection insurance is
for New Zealand residents aged between 19 and 60 who earn a regular income—either self-employed or working fulltime (at least 30 hours a week).
How does income protection insurance work?
You can apply to insure up to 75% of your earned monthly income (before tax) in case you become totally disabled by illness and can’t work.
The actual amount you receive
depends on entitlements you receive from ACC, Work and Income NZ, or other insurance products e.g. if you’re eligible to receive 80% of your usual income from ACC you won’t receive benefits under this policy.
Remember, ACC doesn’t cover illness such as cancer or heart disease.

Choose a waiting period to suit you
this is the period you’ll wait, after being disabled, until your claim payments start
choose from 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days
the longer the waiting period, the lower the premium
payments can be made until you’re fit to return to work, the benefit period expires, or you die.
